Pavlo lights up the Symphony Stage!

Peterborough, ON – On Saturday, April 25th International guitar sensation Pavlo brings his singular sound of a Mediterranean night with a hot fusion of classical and world music to ignite the stage! Proceeds from this fundraising concert will be shared with local charities.

For being all-instrumental, Pavlo’s Mediterranean music speaks for itself. In his 9th album, ”Six String Blvd” Pavlo incorporates the world’s most exotic instruments into his classic Mediterranean sound. Influenced by his travels, you will be captured by the Chinese Ehru; the Portuguese Guitarra; the Arabic Flute; the Indian Sitar and of course the Greek Bouzouki.

Pavlo has come full circle since he introduced his Mediterranean brand in 1998, once again recording an All-Instrumental album. Complete with all brand new compositions, this album highlights Pavlo’s unmatched ability to melodically unite world instruments into his sound seamlessly, all the while staying true to his distinct Mediterranean guitar signature. It has never been more convincing, Pavlo is a TRUE WORLD artist, and has become famous for bringing every audience to their feet.

Pavlo continues to tour worldwide performing over 150 shows per year and is still driven by his father’s famous words: “Have the courage to do what you love, and the drive to do it well.”

This concert features Pavlo performing alone with his band and together with the Symphony, with some pieces by the orchestra alone. Those include Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, Faure’s Pavane, de Falla’s Ritual Fire Music, and Akasha by Canadian composer, Glenn Buhr.

The Symphony’s annual April concert is traditionally the launch of their new subscription campaign – and this year is no different. Ticket holders for this show will see the new brochure and have a chance to get their season’s seats at the front of the line. Renewing subscribers will also get a rose from our flower sponsor, East City Flowers – also an annual favourite!

Audience members will also have a chance to buy tickets for the PSO Spring Raffle – $5 or five for $20 with chances to win one of the following five packages:

  • Travel Package (includes $250 from Carlson WagonLit Travel and more)
  • Health & Fitness package (includes YMCA membership, spa visit and more)
  • Art Package (fine art lessons and more)
  • Signed Guitar from Pavlo! (valued at $500)
