 Gabriella Hamley has enjoyed music all her life, whether in her native Hungary, touring Russia with her university orchestra or touring Zimbabwe with the Gabarone Orchestral Society. She has played with various community orchestras in the Toronto, Oshawa and Belleville areas.
She has been with the PSO for 26 years, 10 years as Principal Second Violin. With a Master’s Degree in Education from Hungary and a Violin Teacher’s Diploma (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Gabriella enjoys teaching and has many students in the Peterborough and Marmora area. She leads an adult string orchestra, the Carpe Diem Ensemble, based in Marmora.
Gabriella enjoys reading, walking in the woods with her dogs, learning languages and has recently started taking cello lessons.
