Music has been an integral part of Christine’s background. Her father, a rhythm guitarist, and brother on classical guitar and clarinet were major influences. She started her musical career on piano and then the flute in high school. In university she graduated with a degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph, and has worked as a Registered Dietitian for 25 years. Although music has not been a career choice, it has always been a constant in her life. Christine played with the Peterborough Concert band for 20 years and during that time decided to learn the oboe. Ten years ago, she was invited to play with the PSO and is thrilled to play oboe and English horn. Playing in the PSO has challenged her to become a better musician under Michael Newnham’s leadership and her terrific section leader, Tori Owen.
In addition to working and playing in the PSO, she enjoys travel, skiing, her two children and their partners, grandchildren and her wonderful partner. They both enjoy playing with the tractors on their new farm.
