Introducing New PSO General Manager Christie Goodwin

Professional musician and Arts Administrator, Christie joined the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as General Manager in December 2023. Originally from small-town Alberta, Christie holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Oboe Performance from the University of British Columbia, an Artist’s Diploma in Orchestral Performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music Toronto, and most recently, a Master’s Degree in Arts Management and Leadership from Queen’s University (2023).  As part of her Queen’s degree program, Christie held an internship position as Director of the School of Atlantic Ballet in Moncton from September 2022 until October 2023. Previous administrative positions include Logistics Coordinator with Barachois Summer Music and Administrative and Production Manager with suddenlyLISTEN! music in Halifax. Christie served as the Oboe Professor at both Mount Allison University and the Université de Moncton, and was the managing and founding member of the well-known woodwind quintet, Ventus Machina until December of 2023. 

Principal Oboist of the Niagara Symphony from 2003-2012, core member of Symphony New Brunswick for over a decade, frequent soloist, freelance artist, and chamber musician, Christie brings a wealth of industry-specific experience to the PSO organization. She and her family are very pleased to have returned to Peterborough and the Ontario arts community.

PSO Annual General Meeting - Wednesday, October 25th, 2023

Hear about the future of the PSO!

You are invited to join the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra for our Annual General Meeting at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 25th. Meet the people behind the scenes, and hear more about the state of the orchestra and plans for the future.

The meeting will be held in Admiralty Hall in the former Navy Club located in Peterborough Naval Memorial Park at 24 Whitla Street. Please note that the parking lot is before the bridge. Vehicles cannot drive over the bridge to access the building.

AUDITION FOR THE PSO

The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra welcomes auditions from local musicians interested in joining the orchestra. Auditions for the 2023-24 season will be held on an ongoing basis starting in September. Click here for more information.

In 2023, the PSO is focusing on how it can do more for the community. With a devoted audience and talented personnel and volunteers, the PSO has the capacity to create connections, support health and well-being, educate, and support arts and culture in Peterborough and beyond.
