 50 Years: Celebrate the Journey

The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1967 by Klement Hambourg, the first music director of the PSO. Since its inception, the PSO has been a cultural cornerstone of the Peterborough community, and now has a reputation as one of the finest community-based orchestras in Canada.

In honour of the PSO’s 50-year history, current place in the Peterborough community, and bright future ahead, the PSO celebrates ‘the journey’ in 2016/17. There is an interesting path upon which to reflect, but also a rich opportunity in each concert to expand the PSO’s journey in different directions.

For the PSO’s 50th anniversary season, let’s travel together to thrilling destinations such as the New World, the North and even space. Let’s discover more about the personal stories of guest artists, music directors and musicians. Let’s share in special events in the community, exciting new partnerships and outstanding programming. In 2016/17, experience and celebrate the journey with the PSO!
