Peterborough Symphony Orchestra begins search for Concertmaster. Violinist Tak Kwan steps down after nearly 20 years of service

PETERBOROUGH, ONTARIO – Peterborough Symphony Orchestra’s soon to be announced 2016/17 concert season will feature new musical talents acting as Concertmaster while the orchestra auditions candidates to fill the position left by violinist Tak Kwan. Kwan has stepped down from the role of Concertmaster after nearly 20 years with the PSO. The PSO’s Board of Directors, staff and musicians are grateful for Tak’s long service with the orchestra. Executive Director, Deanna Guttman, says, “The PSO thanks Tak for all of his hard work and dedication to the organization over nearly 20 years. We wish him the very best.”

The position of PSO Concertmaster will be advertised widely and candidates will have until July 15, 2016 at 5:00pm EDT to submit their applications including cover letter, curriculum vitae and three references by email to the PSO. Concertmaster applicants selected for an interview and audition will be contacted directly. Following these assessments, shortlisted candidates will be invited to perform one rehearsal series including a concert with the orchestra during the 2016/17 PSO concert season as a final audition. The successful candidate will be announced after the 2016/17 season and will begin their full and permanent role as PSO Concertmaster in 2017/18.
